One of the undeniable advantages of log houses is their flexibility, which in its simplest form means that log walls are easy to dismantle, move, or extend when living needs change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is an example of how a young family living in a passive log house built about six years ago easily created a private room for their 9-year-old eldest daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The house already had three bedrooms, but an additional room became necessary when the number of daughters in the family grew from two to three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The starting point for the renovation was the bright upstairs lobby area:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The loft railing was replaced with vertical logs, which formed the walls of the new room. These were built in a single day by a non-professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Installing the door and finishing the trims took another day. The most challenging part turned out to be covering and finishing the chimney located in the corner of the room, which is still slightly unfinished, but did not prevent the room from being put into use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, a bright and fresh room was created quite effortlessly for the sporty daughter Aino, who has decorated her very own space with an appropriate sign on the door (\u201cP\u00e4\u00e4sy kielletty\u201d means \u201cDo not enter\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the room owner\u2019s permission, the little sister was also allowed to join the photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
